HARBOUR YACHTS ~ OUR BOATS

"Wanaka" Sailing Yacht - built by Harbour Yachts Ltd, Auckland, New Zealand

Bruno and Melanie Trouble are delighted with their new 57 ft yacht "Wanaka" which was launched in December 2002. This beautiful boat has been named after Lake Wanaka in the South Island of New Zealand, however many people still refer to the her fondly as "Double Trouble". So far she has been very successful both cruising and racing. Sailing 9 knots easily upwind in only 12knots of breeze. In a recent Auckland regatta she was easily ahead of the fleet. The simple water ballast system works very efficiently as does the carbon rig built by Carbonforce in Auckland. She is kitted out with all the latest equipment and computers from Seamation and ENL. The interior lighting is supplied by Euromarine and upholstery by Peter Boyd of North sails. Special fabrics were chosen by Melanie.

The vast cockpit has special features such as twin steering wheels and for entertaining a handy cockpit fridge installed by Fridgetech who supplied the fridge freezer in the galley. The boat is powered by beautifully cut Lidguard sails and a 125hp Yanmar motor. Lewmar hatches are supplied by Kiwi Yachting. The boat is fitted with a Profurl which has made cruising a breeze. The carbon bow prod for the mast head Genaker makes racing easy for even the cruising person and the sails are all controlled by Harken winches.

With the extremely roomy interior Bruno and Melanie are looking forward to living aboard as they cruise around the Pacific and entertain guests from all over the world. This will be a well earned rest from the excitement of organizing the Louis Vuitton and Americas Cups.
